COMING SOON TO RANDOLPH CENTER, VERMONT — FOLLOW THE RESTORATION

Our Story

A country store, brought carefully back into use.

The interior of the general store mid-renovation: green painted wainscot, warm wood shelving, exposed brick, and stone floors.

The Vision

The Roost is a restoration project first. Before it is a coffee counter or a deli or a room full of people, it is a building being brought carefully back into use.

We're not trying to turn The Roost into something unrecognizable. The goal is to preserve the familiarity of a country store while giving people more reasons to make the trip—and more reasons to stay once they arrive.

What Stays

Keeping the character of the old store

The bones of the old store stay. Clapboard and trim, the porch, the copper roof, the worn thresholds people have crossed for years. Where something has to be replaced, the replacement is chosen to match what was already there.

What Changes

What The Roost will become

What changes is what happens inside: a proper coffee program, a deli counter, provisions worth a detour, and space for people to sit down. A general store that still works like a general store.
